St. Catherine of Siena Academy is hosting the following summer camps:
GIRLS TENNIS CAMP (Grades 8 - 12)*
June 17 - 20, 2013 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The SCA Tennis Camp provides athletes an opportunity to become better tennis players in a fun, positive atmosphere. Our campers learn from the best coaches in the sport and leave tennis camp with confidence and a passion to enjoy the "sport of a lifetime." Join us this summer for better tennis, new friends, and the best week of your summer! Campers should bring a bagged lunch.
Future Varsity: Beginning Kids. Class will work on basic fundamentals such as Forehand, Backhand, Volleys, Serves, Scoring, and Rules.
Jr Varsity: Intermediate Players. Class will cover Topspin and Under-spin Ground strokes, Spin Serves, Volleys, Overheads, Mental Toughness Seminar, Basic Singles and Doubles Strategy, and Match Play.
High School Varsity: Varsity Level Players. Course will cover Advanced Drilling, Topspin and Kick Serves, Approach & Serve-n-Volley techniques, Mental Toughness, Singles and Doubles Strategies and Match Play
GIRLS SOFTBALL CAMP (Grades 5 - 8)
June 17 - 19, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The SCA coaching staff and team players will be on hand to instruct participants of all skill levels. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of the game --- hitting, bunting, pitching, catching, infield and outfield play, base running, and game competition. Included in the sessions are demonstrations, drills, practice sessions, and competitions to enhance learning and development. Campers should bring a bagged lunch.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP (Grades 5 - 8)
June 24 - 27, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Who says getting better can’t be fun too? At Saint Catherine Academy Volleyball Camp, you’ll meet other young athletes who love volleyball as much as you do. On or off the court, you’ll share an experience you will remember forever. The SCA Volleyball Camp is a skills camp, which is four days of intensive work on all phases of volleyball. Not only are group drills stressed, but also much time is spent on individual work with the coaches. Come prepared to work hard, learn a lot and have fun. Campers should bring a bagged lunch.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP (Grades 9 - 12)
July 15 - 18, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

GIRLS ARCHERY CAMP (Grades 7 - 12)
July 1 - 3, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Have you ever seen yourself as Snow White in Once Upon A Time or Katniss from The Hunger Games? Or have you always dreamed of experiencing the feeling of hitting a bulls eye? At the SCA Archery camp, you can improve your skills as an archer or learn how to shoot a bow and arrow for the first time. We will be learning about the history of archery, how to care for a bow and arrow, eye dominance, the mechanics of an archery competition, how to shoot a bow and arrow, and how to improve accuracy. We will have group competitions as well as personal recommendations to improve technique. The camp will end with a balloon shooting competition as well as learning how to make your own arrows. Campers should bring a bagged lunch and their own archery equipment if they have it.
GIRLS BASKETBALL CAMP (Grades 5 - 9)
July 8 - 11, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This camp is open to all girls entering 5th grade through 9th grade. The camp focuses on fundamental skill work, team work and competition. Each morning campers will be introduced to shooting mechanics, dribbling skills, footwork and speed drills, as well as defensive principles. Each afternoon, campers will participate in games and competition with a focus on utilizing skillwork previously learned. This fun and energetic camp will be led by current SCA basketball players and coaching staff. Campers should bring athletic shoes and a bagged lunch.
GIRLS RUNNING CAMP (Grades 5 - 8)
July 8 - 12, 2013 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This cross-country camp is designed for young athletes who are interested in learning to run as a lifestyle and sport. Daily topics include healthy running posture, stride, nutrition, technique, and practical advice such as where and when to run. Runners will gradually build their distance at their own pace over the course of a week, making friends and having fun. The week will conclude with a long-distance run on a specially designed course just for this camp! Whether you have been running for a while, or just want to try it out, this is the camp for you! Campers should bring a bagged lunch.
GIRLS CHEER CAMP (Grades 4 - 9)
July 22 - 24, 2013 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
This camp is designed to help develop/practice the necessary skills from basic through advanced level skills needed in competitive cheer from motions, tumbling, jumps, to stunting.
Campers will practice/learn the correct way to perform all the different kinds of motions within a cheer, the different jumps used in cheer (toe touch, pike, herkie, and hurdler). This camp focuses on individual growth/improvement in acquiring/perfecting tumbling skills from beginner level to advanced tumbling (handstand, cartwheel, round off, back walkover, back handspring, round off back handspring, and back tucks). Campers will also practice/learn how to stunt throughout the camp (thigh stands, elevators, shoulder sits, extensions, reload, sponging, retakes, and cradling). Campers should bring a bagged lunch.
Each camp will cost $150 per player and includes a camp shirt.
