Mr. O'Meara has responsibility for business development and corporate strategy. Prior to founding O'Meara Ferguson, Whelan and Conway, he worked for Bear Stearns & Co., and Raymond James Financial. Mr. O'Meara has spoken to Catholic audiences in 35 states, three European countries, and four Canadian provinces ranging from 10,000 young adults at World Youth Day in Denver to the Secretariat for Education in the Vatican. Mr. O'Meara previously served as the Virginia State Chairman of the RNC Catholic Outreach and served on the Finance Council for the Diocese of Arlington. Additionally, he also worked for the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama. He currently serves as a Pontifical Overseer for the Dominican House of Studies and the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. Dr. Mary Healy is associate professor of Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and senior fellow at the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she earned an MA in theology from Franciscan University, an MA in philosophy from the Catholic University of America, and a licentiate in theology at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria. She completed her doctorate in biblical theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2000. Dr. Healy served for several years as the coordinator of Mother of God Community, a lay Catholic community in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She has also taught at Ave Maria University’s Institute for Pastoral Theology and at the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College. She is the author of Men and Women Are from Eden: A Study Guide to John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and co-editor of three books on biblical interpretation. She is currently co-editing the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture, a new series of commentaries that interpret Scripture from within the heart of the Church, and is author of its first volume, The Gospel of Mark. She often addresses conferences nationally and internationally on topics related to biblical interpretation, the theology of the body, and the spiritual life.

Msgr. Charles Kosanke earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Sacred Heart Seminary. He earned a Masters in Divinity and a Masters in Theological Studies from St. John Provincial Seminary in 1985. Msgr. Kosanke was ordained a deacon on June 7, 1985. His diaconate assignment was at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Redford. He was ordained a priest on December 14, 1985. He was assigned to Rome, Italy from 1988-1992, where he earned a license and doctorate in Biblical Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Msgr. Kosanke served for ten years (1992-2002) on the faculty and administration of Sacred Heart Major Seminary in the following capacities: Assistant Professor of Sacred Scripture, Director of Undergraduate Seminarians, Moderator of the Latin American Program, and Dean of Administration and Advancement. He has served on the Archdiocesan Assignment Board, as the Vicar of North Central Vicariate, and two terms as a member of the Presbyteral Council. Msgr. Kosanke served as pastor of Guardian Angels Parish in Clawson and President of Bishop Foley Catholic High School in Madison Heights from 2002-2005. Msgr. Kosanke is currently the Rector/President of the SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary, President of the American Friends of the Vatican Library, President of the Msgr. Kern Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors for The Michigan Catholic newspaper, Board Member of Catholic Social Services of Oakland County, Spiritual Advisor to the Detroit St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Chaplain to the Detroit Legatus Chapter. He is active in the Worldwide Marriage Encounter movement.

Fr. Dick Elmer graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1946 and entered the Basilian Community in 1947, making his Final Profession of Vows in 1952, the same year he graduated from the University of Toronto. He was ordained a priest in 1957, the same year he earned a Bachelor of Sacred Theology degree. In 1968 he received a Master of Guidance and Counseling degree from the University of Detroit. Fr. Dick served at Catholic Central High School from 1952 – 1954, 1960 – 1978, and 1990 to the present, in the capacities of teacher, Director of Guidance, Director of Athletics, Director of Alumni and Development, Principal, and currently President. From 1978 – 1986 he directed the National Catholic Educational Association’s Annual Convention and Exposition out of Washington, D.C., and then became Dean of Student Services at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, until 1990. For the Basilian Community Fr. Dick served as Superior of the Basilians at Catholic Central, was Co-Director of the Community’s Strategic Transformation Change Process and currently is a member of its Finance Committee.

Linda Shovlain currently works in the DC area as an analyst for a government agency. Prior to this position, she worked for O’Meara, Ferguson and Kearns (now O’Meara, Ferguson, Whelan and Conway). Before joining O’Meara Ferguson, Whelan and Conway, Ms. Shovlain was the Acting Director of the United States Agency for International Development’s Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Promoted from Deputy Director to Acting Director, she helped coordinate activities within USAID to ensure that regulatory and cultural barriers were removed to the participation of faith-based organizations striving to compete for federal funding. Ms. Shovlain also built a team that worked closely with faith-based organizations, helping them to learn the procurement cycles of the agency and facilitating meetings between faith-based organizations and USAID staff. Before joining USAID, Ms. Shovlain served as the Communications Director for the Diocese of Arlington. She served Bishop Loverde for three years, coordinating a comprehensive communications strategy for the entire diocese, including schools, parishes and chancery activities. Ms. Shovlain also served as a Theological Research Assistant to Bishop Loverde. Before joining Bishop Loverde’s staff, Ms. Shovlain earned both a Bachelor of Theology and Licentiate in dogmatic theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Ms. Shovlain also has an extensive background in business and retail management.

Gerald Brennan is a deacon for the Diocese of Lansing, and was appointed the Director of the Diaconate in December 2008. He retired from Aastrom Biosciences in February 2008. He joined Aastrom in July 2005 as its Vice President Administrative & Financial Operations and Chief Financial Officer. He came to the Company from Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, where he served as Director New Ventures, and previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Great Lakes Fine Chemical Division and Monsanto Pharma Tech. Prior to that time, Mr. Brennan was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Capcom Coin-Op, Inc., and he served in various management positions at Tupperware including Vice President of Distributor Operations and Administration for Tupperware North America, President of Tupperware Canada and General Counsel of Tupperware Worldwide. He has also served as Tax Counsel at Premark and as a Tax Manager at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Brennan holds a BS and BA in Accounting and Business Economics, from Marquette University, and a JD from the University of Illinois.

Treasurer of the St. Catherine of Siena Academy Foundation Board. Ed Turek has been with the Academy since its initial planning. Mr. Turek co-founded and co-owns Degue LLC, a management company that partners with businesses and organizations to help them develop management and operational infrastructure. Prior to establishing Degue, Mr. Turek worked at Detroit Catholic Central High School. At Catholic Central, Mr. Turek was the Director of Admissions and Public Relations, Director of Development, and finally Vice President for Advancement. Prior to his work with Catholic Central, Mr. Turek was Vice President of Operations for Package, Design & Manufacturing Inc., a multi-million dollar packaging company in South Lyon, Michigan. Mr. Turek was a baseball letterman and Graduate Assistant Coach for the University of Michigan while achieving both a Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University. He is proud to be an alumnus of Detroit Catholic Central High School and active member of St. William Parish in Walled Lake, Michigan. Mr. Turek is married, has five children, and resides in Wixom, Michigan.
