2026 HOSA States
St. Catherine of Siena Academy’s HOSA team traveled to the 2026 Michigan HOSA State Leadership Conference at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, joining students from across the state in a highly competitive showcase of health science knowledge and skills.
Our students represented SCA with excellence, earning multiple state titles, finalist recognitions, and a standout top-five finish in one of the conference’s most challenging events.

(Neha Jose (12), Genevieve Baron (12), Elise Baron (10), and Maryann Bashi (12))
HOSA Bowl brought home Gold, with Neha Jose (12), Maryann Bashi (12), Elise Baron (12), and Genevieve Baron (10) earning the state championship title. In Clinical Nursing, Kinsley Hancock (9) earned Gold, an exceptional accomplishment as a freshman competitor.

In ATC Testing, Lourd Akrawi (11) earned Gold in Biology, while Charlize Sitto (11) earned Gold in Allied Health Statistics and Silver in Career Development, demonstrating outstanding range across multiple health science disciplines.
Additional students advanced as finalists in their events. In Community Awareness, Charlize Sitto (11), Katelyn Jennings (11), Elinor Jwaydah (10), and Mary DiFranco (9) earned finalist recognition. Bryn Knyz (10) was a finalist in Occupational Therapy, and Gabrielle Arnold (9) was a finalist in Family Medicine.

In the Anatomage Tournament—one of the most competitive events of the weekend—SCA placed 5th in the state out of more than 100 teams. Team members Katelyn Jennings (11), Sloan Bahri, and Lourd Akrawi (11) demonstrated exceptional teamwork and content mastery. While only the top four teams advanced to elimination rounds, this result reflects an outstanding level of preparation and understanding.
The weekend included so many fun experiences, from late-night hotel fire alarms and karaoke to Courtesy Corps service, bus rides, and early morning views over the bay. These moments continue to define the sisterhood of the HOSA program at SCA.
We are grateful to Dr. Lucia Eisner, HOSA Advisor and Science Faculty member, for her leadership, expertise, and commitment to preparing students for success in the health sciences.
