EPOCH Week 2026: Stepping Outside the Classroom
Why St. Catherine Academy? We are just the right size to create meaningful experiences for every student! During EPOCH Week, our entire school steps beyond the classroom for a week of experiential learning—exploring colleges, serving the community, and discovering new interests and gifts.

This year, our young ladies visited a wide range of locations across Metro Detroit and beyond. Many spent time serving others at organizations such as Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners, Fleece & Thank You, and through service opportunities right here at SCA. Others explored culture and history at the Flint Institute of Arts and the Holocaust Memorial Center. Our students also experienced life beyond high school through visits to universities including the University of Michigan, University of Detroit Mercy, Wayne State University, Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University, and Madonna University. Additional experiences included visits to Southfield Hospital and the Detroit Economic Club, giving students insight into careers in healthcare, business, and public leadership.

A small group of students, accompanied by Ms. Hehs and Mrs. Rzepka, traveled to Puerto Rico for a mission trip during EPOCH Week. (Their service experience will be highlighted in a separate blog post soon!)
Thank you to all of our students for participating in another amazing EPOCH Week! We are also grateful to our dedicated teachers and staff who served as chaperones and helped guide these experiences throughout the week. A special thank you to our Dean of Students, Mr. Bumpus, for the tremendous coordination it takes to organize so many opportunities and make this week possible for our entire school community.
