SCA HOSA STARS Shine at State Leadership Conference
As most students were beginning Easter break, several of our STARS were still hard at work — competing at the 2025 Michigan HOSA State Leadership Conference, held April 18–19 at Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City. More than 6,000 students from across the state attended this year’s conference, representing the top competitors from regional events in over 80 health science categories.
Our young ladies performed exceptionally well against hundreds of the top students in Michigan. In the special Anatomy competition, sponsored by Anatomage, the St. Catherine’s team advanced through the preliminaries, semifinals, and finals — ultimately earning a silver medal! Congratulations to team members Hannah Pleet, Hannah Kim, Valencia Imperi, and Isabel Thomas for this remarkable achievement.

Beyond the anatomy competition, several of our students earned individual honors across a range of highly competitive events:
- Iris Neal (Freshman) — Bronze Medal for Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking
- Elinor Jwaydah (Freshman) — Bronze Medal for Respiratory Therapy
Several students were recognized as finalists in highly competitive events:
- Valencia Imperi and Isabel Thomas — EMT
- Lourd Akrawi — Pharmacy Science
- Katherine George — Clinical Specialty
Earlier in the conference, a number of "test-only" event awards were also announced, showcasing even more SCA excellence:

We are incredibly proud of our HOSA team and their dedication, preparation, and poise under pressure. Their achievements reflect the spirit of leadership, academic excellence, and faith-based learning that are at the heart of a St. Catherine of Siena Academy education.
A special thank you to Dr. Lucia Eisner, our amazing HOSA adviser, for her leadership and encouragement throughout the competition season.
Congratulations to all our STARS — your hard work and passion for healthcare truly stood out!
