


NHS Induction Ceremony 2026
On March 19, 2026, St. Catherine of Siena Academy held its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, recognizing students for their commitment to scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
The evening began with a procession of current members and inductees, followed by a prayer and welcome from Principal Ms. Judith Hehs. NHS Advisor Ms. Katy Schafer introduced the program and the purpose of the National Honor Society.
Student leaders then presented the four pillars of NHS:
- Leadership – Julia Ivezaj ’26, NHS President
- Scholarship – Stephanie Lisch ’26, NHS Vice President
- Character – Ava Lassey ’26, NHS Treasurer
- Service – Ava Tran ’26, NHS Secretary

New members were formally inducted and joined current members in reciting the NHS pledge.

The ceremony also included recognition of the Class of 2026 for their leadership and contributions to the Academy.
The candle and rose exchange between the Class of 2026 and the Class of 2027 continues as a tradition of the ceremony. Seniors are presented with roses, while juniors receive a lighted candle, symbolizing the passing of leadership from one class to the next.
