St. Catherine of Siena Academy is proud to announce that Jose Neha and Brooklyn Nafso, Class of 2026, have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. This recognition honors their exceptional academic promise, demonstrated through their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for entry.
Across the nation, about 34,000 Commended Students are being recognized this year for their academic excellence. These students placed among the top 50,000 who entered the 2026 competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” shared a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). “These students represent a valuable national resource. Recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”
SCA Principal Judith Hehs added, “Both Neha and Brooklyn have been exemplary students here at St. Catherine of Siena Academy. They continue to demonstrate that they are both serious and curious learners who live out our mission of faith and intellect.”
We are proud of Neha and Brooklyn for this important academic achievement and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow in both their academic and spiritual journeys.
