Week of Gratitude - Feminine Faith in Action

During Week of Gratitude: Feminine Faith in Action, we give thanks for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, for the Catholic mission at its heart, and for the students, faculty, families, alumnae and friends who make this community possible.

Our mission is rooted in Jesus Christ. We seek to help young women grow in their relationship with Him, discover who God created them to be, and become fully who they are called to be.

As Fr. Pat Bruen shares in our Mission Monday video, becoming fully human happens through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the heart of formation at SCA — it shapes how we pray, teach, learn, and serve.

  • Mission Monday | Sr. Mary Ann Foggin, Sr. Cecilia Pacho, and Fr. Pat Bruen reflect on our Catholic mission and the call to form young women in faith.
  • Student Impact Tuesday | Students share how daily Mass, Adoration, sisterhood, academics, and leadership opportunities have helped them grow.
  • Faculty & Academics Wednesday | Teachers share how they encourage students to ask questions, pursue knowledge, strengthen their faith, and develop their gifts.
  • Day of Giving | Feast of Saint John Paul II
  • Appreciation Friday

St. John Paul II and the Day of Giving, October 22

The crucifix at the center of the St. Catherine of Siena Academy crest is taken from the top of the crosier carried by St. John Paul II. It reflects the influence of his vision of the feminine genius on SCA’s educational philosophy.

‍

‍

At the center of our crest, the crucifix reminds us that Jesus Christ is at the center of our mission. Inspired by St. John Paul II’s teaching on the dignity and gifts of women, we seek to help young women discover who God created them to be and develop their gifts in faith, knowledge and love.

Thursday, October 22, is the feast of St. John Paul II and SCA's Day of Giving. In his Letter to Women, he wrote:

“For in giving themselves to others each day women fulfil their deepest vocation.”

We see this vocation in the daily work of our faculty, the growth of our students, and the generosity of our community.

We invite parents, alumnae, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends to support the SCA Annual Fund. Our community is also welcome to join us for Mass at 10:40 a.m.

‍

I am grateful for the faculty and staff who live our mission each day, for the families who entrust their daughters to us, and for the alumnae, grandparents, donors and friends who support St. Catherine of Siena Academy through their prayers, generosity and service.
Thank you for being part of this community and for helping us form young women in faith, knowledge and love.
